Jack, 2020.

Jack Thompson, one of Australia's most respected actors, appearing in acclaimed film and television roles since the 1960s. He was in Adelaide for the gala launch of High Ground at the Adelaide Film Festival.

The portrait was taken in a back lane in Adelaide, under the shade of a pepper tree, a black cloth draped over a fence, using only natural light and a large format film camera from 1950s.

The portrait is a finalist in the National Portrait Gallery London's $27,000 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize (2021), currently hanging in their Kensington Gallery, London.
